Since there are many moving parts when it comes to the relocation process, we have compiled several frequently asked questions in the hopes of providing the answers you need.

How can I find a reputable and professional moving company?

Finding a reputable moving company involves conducting thorough research and asking several questions. It is also beneficial to ask for recommendations from your friends, neighbors, family, or coworkers who have recently moved.

You can also research your preferred moving company online on the Better Business Bureau website and customer reviews. All licensed movers should provide you with their Motor Carrier number. With the help of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, you can get all the recent information on your preferred licensed moving company.

When is the best time to relocate?

Generally, moving depends on the events that happen in your life. However, many families prefer moving during the summertime when the kids are home for the summer holidays as it helps with easy adjusting to the new neighborhood. In the moving industry, this season runs from May to September.

Even though you cannot avoid our peak season in September, you can rest assured that we will offer you the best and high-quality services to meet your needs. We will provide an easy and smooth relocation process to suit your moving schedule.

Why should I enlist the services of a professional moving company?

Instead of packing up and moving by yourself, hiring a professional moving company will help ease the stress of the moving process. Some advantages of hiring a professional moving team include:

  • Using a professional, reliable, and trustworthy team to help you move punctually
  • They provide a well-thought inventory list to ensure all your items are included.
  • They do all the tedious work on your behalf.
  • You get peace of mind to ensure a professional and safe relocation process.

When should you contact a moving company?

Generally, it is crucial to contact your preferred moving agent immediately you find out you are moving, even though you do not have an exact destination address. If not, you can inform them about four to six weeks before your set moving date to help you meet your moving schedule. It is best to inform your preferred moving team this far in advance because once your house goes on the market, a lot of things can happen quickly.

Do you need a moving estimate?

Performing an in-home estimate is a fundamental step in any moving process. As the salesperson surveys your home, he/she can easily estimate what it will cost you to move. The survey involves viewing everything in the home, including attics, storage sheds, inside drawers and cabinets, and crawling spaces to accurately approximate their weight and packing requirements.

Ideally, it is advisable to get at least three estimates from reputable movers. By comparing these three estimates, you can get the best price for your moving adventure and whether the lower estimate has included all your belongings, and if there are any unexpected additional charges.

What are the differences between interstate and intrastate moving?

Interstate moving refers to long-distance relocation that involves moving your possessions across state lines whose cost primarily depends on the weight of your belongings. The U.S. Department of Transportation governs these moves through the rules of interstate commerce.

Intrastate moves involve local relocation within the same state and whose cost is often per the hour. They enter interstate commerce but do not cross state lines. Additionally, the rules of the state they are moving into govern the move.
