Supplies That Make Packing A Breeze | Winter Moving & Storage

Packing is a time-consuming process. There really is no way around it. You have to physically take everything you own (or at least everything you plan on moving with) and place it into boxes and other storage containers. No matter how many times you’ve packed your belongings, there is always room for improvement. So, if you have an upcoming move and are looking to prep for it, here are a handful of supplies that will make packing a breeze:

Packing Tape Roller

You’re going to use a considerable amount of packing tape. And if multiple people are packing up their own rooms, each individual will likely have their own rolls of tape. However, you don’t want to rely on just the packing tape alone. You want to opt for a handheld roller. The tape roller makes applying the tape to your boxes super easy and you can cut and rip the tape without needing scissors or a knife. This way, you can focus more of your time on packing and boxing than dealing with tape.

Bubble Pockets

When packing up dishes and other breakable items, you’ll want to pack them using bubble wrap. Wrapping everything in newspaper requires a large amount of newspaper, and even then, newspaper isn’t all that protective. Bubble wrap is far better, and yet if you buy just the rolls of bubble wrap, you’ll be forced to cut the wrap and tape it together. Instead, there are bubble pockets. These are essentially envelopes made up of bubble wrap. With different sizes, you can easily slide a bowl, cup, plate, or other items into the bubble wrap pocket, all without cutting or taping. This will save you all kinds of time and hassle.

Room Identifier

You’ew going to be moving a large number of rooms, and with it you might have dozens of boxes. Attempting to keep track of all these boxes is difficult at best and impossible at worst – that is, unless you have room identifiers on the boxes. There are a number of ways you can do this while moving. You can place easy-to-recognize stickers on the boxes. You can even purchase different colored packing tape. This way, you can color-code everything simply based on the tape color.

Mattress Cover

Moving a mattress isn’t always easy. If you have a larger mattress, such as a king-size mattress with a pillow top, it can end up being the most difficult item you end up moving. It isn’t so much that it’s heavy as it is awkward to move. The mattress will flop around and bend, making it difficult to control. There also might not be anything to really hold onto. That’s why you should consider a mattress moving cover. You’ll slip the mattress into the cover, which will then, in turn, give you handles to use that are built into the cover. It will also help keep the mattress from flopping around, making it easier to control as well. The less time you have to deal with moving a mattress, the more time you’ll have for moving other items.
